July 31, 2015 - United Soccer League Championship (USL)
Real Monarchs News Release
SANDY, Utah (Friday, July 31, 2015) - Real Monarchs return to Rio Tinto Stadium Saturday night for the first of four August home matches, hosting Orange County Blues in the return leg of the home-and-away series following last Saturday's 0-1 defeat in California. Saturday night's match is set to kick off at 7:30 p.m. MT and will be broadcast LIVE locally on KMYU, continuing its broadcast of all Monarchs' home matches, as well as on RealMonarchs.com and Real Monarchs' YouTube page. The Monarchs' home game will be preceded by a pair of ancillary events, including the RSL Women's WPSL Elite Championship match against San Francisco at 3:00 p.m. MT and an AFCU Pavilion watch party on the East side of Rio Tinto Stadium at 5:00 p.m. MT for Real Salt Lake at D.C. United.
Real Monarchs (2-10-6, 9 points, 12th West) ended a light July slate with a loss to Orange County Blues last week in Irvine at Anteater Stadium. Monarchs have never won a USL match on the road but came out strong against the Blues, outshooting the home team 15-12 (13-5 in the second half). However, it would be the Blues who scored the games one and only goal just before half when Chris Cortez shot from 12 yards out and GK Eric Osswald could only do enough to parry the ball away where it fell to unmarked Denzel Slager who blasted home for the winning goal.
Orange County Blues FC (8-8-3, 27 points, 6th West) earned its first victory in five matches with the 1-0 win over Real Monarchs last weekend. The Blues currently hold the last playoff spot in the West sitting between Tulsa Roughnecks and Oklahoma City Energy (both of which Real Monarchs will play this month). The Blues are expected to bring 6'3" DF Brenton Griffiths to SLC who missed last match due to his suspension for yellow card accumulation.

Other players that featured in that contest were FW Bofo Saucedo, DF Boyd Okwuonu, FW Emery Welshman, and DF Jordan Murrell.
Super Soccer Saturday
Rio Tinto Stadium and the America First Pavilion are playing host to a triple-header on Saturday that starts at 3 p.m. when the Real Salt Lake Women take on the San Francisco Nighthawks in the WPSL Elite Championship. United.
The festive day concludes when Real Monarchs SLC takes on the OC Blues at Rio Tinto Stadium at 7:30 p.m. in a rematch of Saturday's first meeting between the USL clubs in Irvine, California.
