Reading With the Maulers

MONTGOMERY, Ala. –The Montgomery Maulers along with the Boys and Girls Club of Montgomery are having a summer reading competition.

The West End Unit, Chisholm Unit and Trenholm Court Unit are the three area Boys and Girls Clubs that will be participating in the event sponsored by CiCi's Pizza and Sears.

Maulers' players and dancers will visit each club that participates in the reading competition as well as sign autographs for the children. Listed below are the dates and times of their appearances:

June 8, West End Unit, 2:00-4:00 pm
June 16, Chisholm Unit, 2:00-4:00 pm
June 23, Trenholm Court Unit, 2:00-4:00 pm

The individual Boys and Girls Club that reads the most pages will win a pizza party from CiCi's Pizza. The child that reads the most pages will win a Sony PlayStation 2 from Sears.

The Boys and Girls Club of America mission is to inspire and enable all young people to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens. The Boys and Girls Club of America also provides a safe place to learn and grow, life-enhancing programs and character developing experiences.

The reading competition will begin on Wednesday June 1 and will end on Friday June 24.
