Reading Express News Release

Reading, Pa. (August 19, 2010) - The Reading Express today announced a new dance initiative for the 2011 season. The aptly-named Junior Junction is a youth hip hop program that is open to boys and girls ages 6-16. The program features two primary components: instructional clinics for all and a Junior Junction dance team comprised of the most-talented performers in Berks County. In addition to performing at Reading Express home games, the Junior Junction dance team will also have the chance to participate in parades, community appearances and other team functions.

"Reading and the surrounding area is full of incredible, unique talent," said Brenda Mitchell, director of public relations for the Reading Express. "Junior Junction is the perfect opportunity for many of these young kids to showcase their abilities in the community and in front thousands of fans at Express home games."

Details of the Junior Junction youth hip hop program will be released at a later time. The instructional clinics will provide the opportunity for all kids to broaden their hip hop skills, while giving program leaders a chance to recruit some of the best Reading-area dancers for the Junior Junction dance team. The effort is being led by Alexandra Plank, who has been appointed as director of Junior Junction.

"Alexandra is the perfect fit for what we are looking for in a leader," said Tim Glase, general manager of the Reading Express. "She is energetic and has 16 years of dance experience in the Berks County area. She's been able to quickly embrace Junior Junction as her own, and significantly contribute to the vision and mission of the program."

The Reading Express is striving to have no child turned away because of financial matters. For this reason, there will be a limited number of scholarships for deserving kids who might not otherwise have the opportunity to participate.

More information on the Junior Junction youth hip hop program will be available in the near future. Please continue to check www.expressindoorfootball.com for the latest updates.
