RDA Hires Justin Evans to Coaching Staff

August 26, 2019 - United Soccer League Championship (USL) - Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC News Release

PITTSBURGH - The Riverhounds Development Academy has hired Justin Evans to its coaching staff for the 2019-20 campaign.

Evans, a founding member of the Riverhounds Academy in 2007, will coach the 2005 RDA Boys team and will start his duties immediately.

"We are delighted to welcome Justin back to the club," Academy Director Scott Gibson said. "Justin was part of the group that helped launch the Riverhounds Academy and is back where he belongs. In addition to leading the U-15 (2005) RDA Boys, he will be integral in areas of growth and new program initiatives. This is an excellent hire for the Academy, and we can't wait to have him back on the staff."

Evans has a decorated tenure with the Riverhounds SC organization. In 1999, the Hounds selected him as their first-ever player in an expansion draft. The midfielder went on to record 101 appearances and 50 points in his career with the club.

After his playing career, Evans moved into the professional coaching ranks. From 2010-14, he coached Riverhounds SC. His 112 all-competition matches at the helm rank the most in club history.

"The timing is right, and I am super excited to be back with the Riverhounds organization," Evans said. "I am really looking forward to working with everyone involved in the organization, the coaching staff and the young players to help continue to grow the highly successful Riverhounds Academy."
