In Buffalo, Melvin Council scored 25 points off the bench as the RazorSharks swept the season series against the Stampede 120-109.
The Stampede started the game on a 12-2 run in which Corey Herring and Kevin Ross scored six points apiece on the way to a 25-17 first quarter lead. The RazorSharks bit back as they went on an 8-2 run before tying the score at 29-29 with 9:28 left in the half on a basket by Fred Durr. Mike Norwood and Frank Turner each put up 13 first half points, while Rochester's Melvin Council paced the `Sharks with 12 points giving the RazorSharks a 56-53 half-time lead.
Buffalo took an 83-79 lead in the third quarter as Mark Price had eight points including two three-pointers. Eric Walton added eight points for Rochester in the quarter. The RazorSharks scored 41 fourth quarter points including 13 from Council as the `Sharks finished off the Stampede.
Rochester had six players score in double digits including Lincoln Smith with 16 and Eric Walton with 10 points. Marlin Johnson, Keith Friel and David Bailey each scored 14 for the `Sharks (12-3). Buffalo (3-13) was led by Frank Turner's 21 points. Corey Herring and Mike Norwood each scored 19 points, while Mark Price (17) and Kevin Ross (13) also finished in double digits.
