RazorSharks Defeat Newark 105-83

Rochester RazorSharks News Release


(Newark, New Jersey)...The Rochester RazorSharks defeated the Newark Express 105-83 at Essex Community College Saturday night in an American Basketball Association game. The defending ABA champion RazorSharks outscored Newark 34-19 in the third quarter to take the lead for good and hold on for their 21st win of the season (21-6). Rochester has won seven straight games and ten of their last 11 contests as they hold onto second place in the ABA's North Division.

Guard Keith Friel had six three-pointers and led the RazorSharks with 22 points. Guard Demond Stewart added 18 points and forward Eric Coley added 12 points for Rochester. Ricky Price scored 10 points for Rochester while Phillip Smith led Newark with 17 points.

Rochester travels to Massachusetts tomorrow, Sunday, March 4 to meet the Cape Cod Frenzy at 6:00 p.m. The RazorSharks return to the Blue Cross Arena to host the #1 ranked Vermont Frost Heaves on Tuesday, March 6 at 7:05 p.m.
