RazorSharks announce 2009 training camp roster

(Rochester, NY) - The Rochester RazorSharks of the Premier Basketball League (PBL) announced their roster of players invited to RazorSharks Training Camp for the 2009 season; camp opens on Friday December 12th. Twenty-three (23) players have been invited to camp to earn a spot on the 2009 roster. Training Camp takes place at both the Carlson MetroCenter YMCA in Downtown Rochester (444 E. Main St.) and the Eastside YMCA in Penfield (1835 Fairport Nine Mile Point Road).

Players returning from the 2008 PBL Championship Team for camp are Keith Friel, Jerice Crouch, James "Mook" Reaves (Edison Tech), Ron Rollerson, Sammy Monroe, Steve Hailey, Arthur Barclay, Derik Hollyfield, and John Halas.

New prospects include forward Charles Ward (member of the Wilmington Sea Dawgs of the PBL last season), guard Jeremy Bell; the PBL's 2008 League Most Valuable Player, and guard Tre Whitted (formerly of PBL's Wilmington Sea Dawgs).

Local players attending camp consist of Brian Jackson ('00 East High & RazorSharks 2008 1st Round Draft Pick), Melvin Council ('01 Wilson Magnet HS), Jack Leasure ('04 McQuaid), and Isiah Ewing ('99 East High).

Adding an international touch to training camp will be shooting guard Ratdech "JO" Kruatiwa from Thailand (played for Maryland Nighthawks of PBL last season) and 7'0" center Dmitriy Nekrasov from Russia.

RazorSharks Head Coach Rod Baker says of the training camp roster, "On paper, this looks like the best training camp roster that we have ever had. Camp will be very competitive."

The RazorSharks open their regular season on January 3rd on the road against the Augusta (GA) Groove and return to Rochester for their Home Opener on January 10th versus the Buffalo Stampede.
