The Princeton Rays beat the Kingsport Mets, 8-3, on July 15 at Hunnicutt Field. The P-Rays scored first with a run in the 2nd, then two runs in the 4th, one in the 5th, one in the 7th, and finished strong with three in the 8th. The Mets brought two home in the 3rd and one in the 7th. Garrett Fulenchek is credited with the win for the Rays and Alberto Casanas with the save. Harol Gonzalez takes the loss for Kingsport.
Princeton is currently first in the Appalachian League East at 12-8. The Mets are second in the Appalachian League West, at 11-10, behind Greeneville.
Kewby Meyer scored the first run for the P-Rays with a homer in the 2nd. The Mets took the lead in the 3rd, scoring two runs. Dash Winningham hit a home run, bringing Dale Burdick home with him. In the 4th, Brett Sullivan had a homer, bringing Landon Cray home. Princeton struck again with one run in the 5th off of a sacrifice fly by Peter Maris, which brought Angel Perez home. Kingsport scored in the 7th with a run by Leon Canelon from a single by Patrick Mazeika. Perez hit a homer for Princeton in the 7th. In the 8th, Perez hit a double, bringing Cray, Brett Sullivan, and David Olmedo-Barrera home.
