Rays Seek 2016 Interns

The Princeton Rays, proud Appalachian League affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays are now seeking interns for the 2016 season beginning in June.

The Princeton Rays internship program is an immersive, 12-week intern employment experience for high school, college and graduate students seeking hourly pay or college credit while working in professional baseball.

The Rays' Internship Program spans from mid-June to early September while giving interns a glimpse into the sports industry as they actively assist the daily operations of a professional baseball franchise.

Intern duties during employment with Rays include:

? Assisting in preparation and cleanup of Hunnicutt Field before and after Rays' games

? Writing in team-related press releases and game recaps

? Emceeing and coordinating participants for Rays' in-between innings games

? Assisting in Rays' single-game and merchandise sales

? Coordinating pre-set Rays' theme nights at Hunnicutt Field

? Assisting in operation of team events including Little League Clinic and P-RaysFest

? Any other tasks assigned by Rays' full-time staff

Ideal intern qualities are:

? Motivated individuals with strong work ethic

? Ability to work many hours, multiple games per week

? Proficient in Microsoft Office programs

? Proficient in money handling and counting

? Ability to lift and move objects at least 25-50 lbs.

? Willingness to learn previously unknown facets of baseball operations

? Previous work in sports preferred but not required

? Basic knowledge of baseball
