
Rays Lose to Royals

The Princeton Rays lost to the Burlington Royals, 9-1, at Hunnicutt Field on August 24. Burlington scored three runs in the first inning, three in the second, one in the third, and two in the seventh. Princeton's only run came in the sixth inning. The win goes to Burlington's Chase Darhower and Ethan Clark takes the loss for the Rays.
Princeton is second in the Appalachian League East, at 33-27, behind Pulaski, at 38-22. The Royals are fourth in the East at 26-34.
In the first inning, the Royals put three runs on the board. Brian Bien made it home from a single by Brandon Dulin. Ben Johnson scored as Colton Frabasilio singled. Meibrys Viloria grounded out as Dulin scored. In the second inning, Burlington scored three more runs, starting with a single by Dulin, which brought Bien and Tanner Stanley home. Johnson scored from a sacrifice fly by Xavier Fernandez. In the third, Burlington's Viloria made it home from a single by Jose Martinez. In the sixth inning, the Rays got their only run from a home run by Zac Law. Burlington scored two more in the seventh. A double by Bien brought Viloria home. Angelo Castellano scored off of a sacrifice fly by Stanley.
