Orlando Rays News Release
Sevierville, Tenn - Thursday's Southern League game between the Orlando Rays and the division-leading Tennessee Smokies has been postponed due to rain and wet field conditions. As a result of the postponement the teams will play a doubleheader Friday starting at 6:15. Both games will be seven-inning contests, with game two starting approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of game one. Game one will feature Orlando RHP Jose Veras (5-8, 3.60) and Tennessee lefty Juan Pena (4-4, 3.63). Orlando righty Scott Autrey (2-2, 3.13) will face Tennessee RHP Nick Stocks (8-6, 4.65) in the nightcap. The doubleheader kicks off a 12-game road trip for the Rays, who return to Orlando August 12. It will also be the second doubleheader between the Rays and Smokies in the last four days; the teams were forced to play a twin bill in Orlando on Tuesday after Monday's game was rained out.
