Dallas Rattlers News Release
DENVER, Colorado - The Dallas Rattlers secured a home playoff game on August 11 at Ford Center at The Star after winning a gritty road matchup against the Denver Outlaws on Sunday afternoon.
The Outlaws jumped out to an early 6-4 lead in the first half with the Rattlers failing to convert on several scoring opportunities. Rookie defenseman John Sexton scored his second two-point goal of the season to help the Rattlers keep it close heading into halftime.
In the second half, the Rattlers were slow to score and at one point were down 10-5. With faceoff specialist Drew Simoneau (20-28) having an exceptional day, the Rattlers clawed back into the game. Deep in the fourth quarter, the Rattlers had it tied with two goals a piece from Ryan McNamara and Zack Greer. The Outlaws managed to even the score once again but it was rookie sensation Ben Reeves who was given the ball with just 10 seconds remaining in the game. Reeves netted his second goal of the day to lift the visitors to victory. Reeves was named the Coca-Cola Player of the Game for his late-game heroics.
With the win, the Rattlers remain in first place and extend the league's current longest winning streak to seven games. The Rattlers will now host a playoff game on August 11. Playoff tickets will go on sale Wednesday, July 25 online through DallasRattlers.com. Season members will be notified about how they can claim their season seats for the playoff game.
Next up for the Rattlers is an away game on July 22 with the Denver Outlaws. The Rattlers return home to Ford Center on July 29 to take on the New York Lizards. Tickets for the home game versus the Lizards are on sale now.
