
Rattlers notch a league-record 28 goals in home win

(Rochester, NY)... The Rochester Rattlers continued to play well down the stretch as they recorded a record-setting 28-13 victory over the Bridgeport Barrage tonight at Bishop Kearney Field.
The win was the second straight for the Rattlers as they stayed alive in the Major League Lacrosse playoff race. Rochester improved to 4-6 with its second home win of the season. The win was even more special for Fairport native Tim Soudan, who recorded two goals in his return to the lineup after missing the first nine games of the season.
Bud Light MVP Ryan Powell led Rochester with four goals and six assists.
Adam Doneger also notched four goals, including one two pointer, and Josh Coffman chipped in four goals and two assists. Rochester peppered Matt Hunter and Justin Cynar with a record 78 shots.
Chris Rotelli led the Barrage with four goals, and Michael Springer and Roy Colsey also had two goals apiece. The Barrage fell to 1-9 with the road loss.
Rochester improved to 3-0 this year against Bridgeport and 7-0 all-time. The final game is Thursday, August 14th in Bridgeport.
After tonight's game, Rochester has one game remaining against the Barrage and an August 9th showdown against the Baltimore Bayhawks. The Rattlers remain in fifth place in the MLL with two games remaining.
Rochester travels to Baltimore on Saturday, August 9th to play the Bayhawks. The 7:30 p.m. contest will be broadcast on News Talk 950 WROC and www.rochesterrattlers.com. The game will also be televised tape delayed on ESPN2 on Tuesday, August 12th at 3:00 p.m.
