(Rochester, NY)... Three members of the Rochester Rattlers received Major League Lacrosse awards this week, following the team's record-setting 28-13 win over the Bridgeport Barrage on Saturday night. Earlier today, the league honored attackman Ryan Powell, goalie Brian Carcaterra and midfielder Adam Doneger for their efforts this past week. With the victory, Rochester stayed alive in the MLL playoff race with two games remaining. The Rattlers won their second straight game and shattered two league records in the process. The teams' 28 goals and 78 shots both stand as MLL single-game records.

Ryan Powell won MLL Offensive Player of the Week honors for his 10-point performance (4+6). Since returning from an injury, Powell has notched eight goals and 11 assists in four games this season.

Adam Doneger captured Cascade MLL Rookie of the Week honors during Week 10. It is the second time Doneger has won the award this season. In the win over the Barrage, he scored five goals, including one two-pointer. In his rookie year, he has 19 goals, including two two-pointers, and two assists for 23 points. He was also the lone rookie in the 2003 MLL All-Star Game. The Johns Hopkins University product was the Rattlers' second-round selection (seventh overall) in the 2003 MLL College Draft.

Brian Carcaterra was named the MLL Defensive Player of the Week for the first time this season. Against Bridgeport, he stopped a season-high 18 shots and earned his second straight victory. Carcaterra was acquired in an offseason trade with the Long Island Lizards.

The Rattlers (4-6) hit the road this weekend for a 7:30 p.m. game against the Baltimore Bayhawks on Saturday, August 9th. The contest is the ESPN2 Game of the Week and will be televised tape delayed on Tuesday, August 12th at 3:00 p.m. The game will be broadcast on News Talk 950 WROC and www.rochesterrattlers.com.
