Dallas Rattlers News Release
Hempstead, NY - The Dallas Rattlers fell 13-9 to the New York Lizards on Saturday night and fall to 0-5 on the season. The loss was their second matchup of a doubleheader slate that began on Thursday in Denver.
Rattlers' attackman Bryce Wasserman began the first quarter on fire after not recording a point in Dallas' 15-9 loss to the Outlaws two days prior- he opened the scoring for Dallas, had two goals on two shots, and also tacked on an assist by the conclusion of the first quarter. Cody Radziewicz scored two minutes and 18 seconds after Wasserman's second tally to give Dallas a two goal advantage.
New York's Dylan Molloy and Kevin Crowley each scored in the final three minutes of the opening frame to send the game into the second quarter tied at three. Dallas began the third quarter with a three-goal streak with scores from Radziewicz (just 54 seconds into the quarter), Teddy Hatfield, and Jake Seau. New York went on to score three unanswered goals of its own to end the half with a 6-6 game.
The Rattlers hit an offensive skid in the second half, while New York's offense got a spark of life and was able to get their first lead of the game. New York began the quarter with goals from Molloy and Pannell to take an 8-6 lead. After a two-point strike from Eli Salama, New York went on another three-goal tear to improve the score to 11-8. Bryce Wasserman, who already had two goals and an assist so far in the game, scored his third of the night on a buzzer-beater to close the third period and reduce the Lizards' lead to two.
Both teams' offensive momentum slowed in the final period, with only two goals were scored, both of which came in a 10-second span from New York's Brett Osman and Scott Corcoran, respectively. Dallas was held to only three shots in the fourth quarter.
The Rattlers return to Ford Center at The Star on Sunday, July 7 for the team's Operation Appreciation Day to honor the military. Tickets are available on DallasRattlers.com or by calling (800) 413-6109.
