
Rattlers Coffman and Cassese Win MLL Weekly Awards

(Rochester, NY)... Two members of the Rochester Rattlers received Major League Lacrosse awards this week, following the team's 21-19 win over the Bridgeport Barrage on Thursday night.
Josh Coffman won MLL Offensive Player of the Week honors and Kevin Cassese garnered Cascade MLL Rookie of the Week accolades during Week 9. With the selection of Coffman and Cassese, it marks the sixth and seventh time Rattlers have been honored by the MLL.
Coffman registered six goals in the Rattlers victory at Bridgeport. The six goals tied a franchise single-game record. Coffman is currently second on the team with 27 points (20+7).
Cassese won Rookie of the Week honors for the second time this season. He also won the award in Week 6. Last week he notched one goal and won seven of 14 faceoffs. The rookie from Duke University has 10 goals and four assists in nine games this season for Rochester. Cassese was the Rochester Rattlers' first-round selection (second overall) in the 2003 MLL College Draft.
The Rattlers (3-6) return to action this Saturday, as they battle the Bridgeport Barrage (1-7) in the second game of a home-and-home series. The 7:35 p.m. contest will be broadcast on News Talk 950 WROC and www.rochesterrattlers.com. The game concludes the Rattlers' 2003 home regular season schedule.
The Rattlers will practice Friday night at 8:00 p.m. at Bishop Kearney Field. The session is free and open to the public.
