
MLL Trophy to Take Tour of Philly

Major League Lacrosse's Championship Trophy will begin a tour of area lacrosse and youth camps across the Delaware Valley, when it visits the Radnor Multi Sport Camp on Thursday, July 31 at noon. The event starts a week of visits for the MLL's crown jewel designed to celebrate individual tickets going on-sale this Friday, August 1 for MLL Championship Weekend at Villanova Stadium August 22 and 24.
At each trophy tour stop, area youth will have the opportunity to have their picture taken with the MLL's Championship trophy. Among the visits planned are two events at P.L.A.Y. (The Philadelphia Lacrosse Association for Youth), the official inner city Philadelphia lacrosse program of US Lacrosse and the Philadelphia Lacrosse Association.
Individual tickets are $18 for adults and $15 for kids for admittance to both semi-final games on August 22 and $22 for adults and $20 for kids for the championship game on August 24. Tickets can be purchased at the Wachovia Complex Box Offices and all Ticketmaster locations.
Fans can receive great discounts for both games by purchasing an MLL Championship Weekend ticket package. The package, which is $36 for adults and $30 for kids 12 and under, includes both Friday semi-final games and Sunday's Championship Game. Game strips can be purchased by calling 215-389-WINGS (9464) or at Ticketmaster.
Major League Lacrosse, a six-team professional outdoor lacrosse league, was founded in 1999 by fitness entrepreneur Jake Steinfeld, CEO of Body by Jake Enterprises, and partners Dave Morrow, a former champion lacrosse player and now CEO of Warrior Lacrosse, a leading provider of innovative and high performance lacrosse equipment; and Timothy B. Robertson, former CEO of The Family Channel and the current chairman of Bay Shore Enterprises, L.L.C., an investment holding company with activities in international media and internet technology ventures. The MLL commenced play in June of 2001 with team in Baltimore, Boston, (Bridgeport) Connecticut, Long Island, (Bridgewater) New Jersey, and Rochester.
