(Rochester, NY) - The Rochester Rattlers acquired rookie M Rob Rotanz from the Ohio Machine. The Rattlers traded both of their second round selections in the 2013 Major League Lacrosse Collegiate Entry Draft in exchange for Rotanz and the Machine's fourth round selection.

"Rotanz is the dodging middie that we've been looking for." Rattlers coach Tim Soudan said. "He was a dominant player for the past two seasons with Duke. We think that he will fit into our midfield mix and be a contributor as we look to make a playoff run in the second half of the season."

Rotanz was an All-American selection his last two seasons with Duke. As a senior he led Duke with 40 goals and added eight assists as a First Team All-American and key contributor on the Blue Devils Final Four team. He was named All-American Honorable Mention after a break out junior season where he scored 23 goals and added five assists. He finished his collegiate career with 78 goals and 18 assists.

He made his Major League Lacrosse debut with the Ohio Machine on June 1st, 2012 against the Long Island Lizards. He has one goal and two ground balls in his first two MLL games.

The Rochester Rattlers are off this weekend for the MLL All-Star Break, but they return to action with a home-and-home series against the Long Island Lizards on Friday, July 6th and Saturday, July 7th. The Rattlers host the Lizards at 7PM in Sahlen's Stadium on Friday, July 6th. Tickets are on sale now by calling 585.454.5425 or by visiting rochesterrattlers.com.
