Rattler Kevin Cassese Wins MLL Rookie of the Week Honors

(Rochester, NY)... Rochester Rattlers midfielder Kevin Cassese was named the Major League Lacrosse Rookie of the Week, following a three-goal effort against the New Jersey Pride last Sunday. Cassese becomes the third Rattler to win the honor this season, joining Gewas Schindler and Adam Doneger.

Cassese netted three goals in Rochester's 17-15 loss to New Jersey. The midfielder is seventh on the Rattlers with nine points (6+3) in six games. The Duke University graduate was the Rochester Rattlers' first-round selection (second overall) in the 2003 MLL College Draft.

The Rattlers (2-4) return to action this Saturday, as they battle the New Jersey Pride (3-2) in the second game of a home-and-home series on July 12th. The 7:35 p.m. contest will be broadcast on News Talk 950 WROC and www.rochesterrattlers.com. The contest is the first of a two-game homestand, as Rochester hosts the Boston Cannons on Saturday, July 19th at 7:35 p.m.

The Rattlers will practice Friday night at 8:00 p.m. at Bishop Kearney Field. The session is free and open to the public.
