HUNTSVILLE, Ala. â Tennessee Valley Raptors coach Dick Adams announced Monday the signing of linebacker Greg Cole, a former San Diego Charger and All-Big 12 performer at Kansas.
"Greg is just an intelligent player with all the right tools,'' Raptors coach Dick Adams said. "He'll definitely be an asset for us as we head into the playoffs."
Cole, at 6-foot-3, 245 pounds, signed a free agent contract with the Chargers after totaling 145 tackles and 12 sacks after completing a three-year career in 2002. An All-Big 12 Conference first-team selection by the The NFL Draft Report and a second-team pick by the Associated Press and the Kansas City Star, Cole led the Jayhawks with 106 tackles as a senior and his 21 for a loss set the school record.
The Raptors (3-7) host the Sioux Falls Storm on Saturday night at the Von Braun Center. The first 1,500 kids 18 and under will receive a Raptors Kids Cap compliments of WZDX Fox 54 and Crystal Mountain Natural Spring Water.
