Tennessee Valley Raptors News Release

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Tennessee Valley Raptors coach Dick Adams had been looking for a quality kicker and now he has one.

Ex-Viper and former Jacksonville State kicker Steven Lee has signed with Tennessee Valley and joined 30 other players that reported for practice when training camp opened Tuesday.

Adams said that he was very satisfied that Lee was joining Tennessee Valley, which opens the inaugural 2005 United Indoor Football season March 19 at Evansville.

"Steven looked great on film and he's a talented kicker,'' Adams said. "He's also a familiar face that people will recognize, not to mention a great person that's not afraid to put in extra work. I'd say our kicking game is in great shape."

Lee had an 18-yard field goal and was 17 of 29 on extra points after joining Tennessee Valley for the final four regular season games in 2004. An honorable mention All-Ohio Valley Conference selection, Lee (5-11, 185 pounds) finished his collegiate career at JSU in 2003. He totaled 57 points with two 51-yard field goals and a school-record 52-yarder against Murray State.

"It's exciting because there are a lot of new faces, a new league and it's a new opportunity,'' Lee said. "I've been blessed and I'm looking forward to getting things started."
