Rapoza, Carbery and Kostichka Join Hounds

Hoffman Estates, Ill. (August 11, 2006) - The Chicago Hounds and Coach Greg Puhalski announced Friday the signing of defenseman Bob Rapoza along with forwards Spencer Carbery and Adam Kostichka. These three talented players add depth to the Hounds roster.

Veteran defensive player, Bob Rapoza (6 feet 2 inches, 225 pounds) was acquired from the Adirondack Frostbite. A native of Fall River, MA, the left-handed shooter brings more than 11 years experience as a professional player. With 7 UHL seasons to his credit and an appearance in the 2006 UHL All-Star Game, the Hounds are fortunate to have his leadership on the ice. Coach Puhalski calls Rapoza, "a veteran defenseman that plays solidly offensively and defensively."

Also signing Friday was rookie forward Spencer Carbery. The 6 foot, 190 pound forward played his juniors with the Cowichan Valley Capitals (BCHL) where he played on the All-Rookie Team. Carbery also won the BCHL skills competition in the breakaway event and set a Capitals team record of 5 goals in one game. Most recently, Carbery played for the University of Alaska-Anchorage. Coach Puhalski looks for Carbery to "continue his fine college career with the Hounds and supply our team with great results."

Rounding out the newest additions to the Hounds roster is Adam Kostichka (6 feet 4 inches, 210 pounds). A native of Stevens Point, WI, Kostichka, this talented forward attended the University of Wisconsin- Stevens Point and in 108 games scored 48 goals and had 45 assists. In the 2004-2005 season, Kostichka was selected to the All-Northern Collegiate Hockey Association First Team. With playing time in both the ECHL and UHL, Kostichka now joins fellow UW-Stevens Point alumnus, Mike Brolsma as a member of the Chicago Hounds. Coach Puhalski is looking at Kostichka to "give our team strength and size along the walls"
