Bye Week

The Colorado Rapids will enjoy an MLS bye week this weekend. The team will have nine days without Major League Soccer action and will return to the field on Wednesday, June 21st when they host Chivas USA at INVESCO Field at 7:30 p.m. (MT)

100 Goals at INVESCO

Argentine striker Nicolas Hernandez's game-winning goal against Real Salt Lake last Friday, June 9th went directly into the history books of the Colorado Rapids. The goal was the 100th scored by the team at INVESCO Field at Mile High.

Cannon Back with a Shutout

After a couple of weeks sidelined by a groin injury, goalkeeper Joe Cannon returned to the Rapids starting lineup against Real Salt Lake on Friday, June 9th. The two time Major League Soccer Goalkeeper of the Year recorded his first shutout of the season after facing 12 shots and making five saves.

Rapids Reserves Exhibition

The Rapids Reserves will take on the Boulder Rapids Reserve PDL side this Wednesday, June 14th at 5:00pm (MT) at Pleasant View Fields in Boulder in an exhibition match. The team will return to MLS Reserve Tournament action on Sunday, July 9th, when then will take on the Kansas City Reserves at 10:00 a.m. (MT) in Colorado. The team , led by second assistant coach Steve Trittschuh, has posted a 3-0-0 undefeated record so far in the tournament.

Fiesta at the Stadium

Next Wednesday's game vs. Chivas USA will also feature the return of the Rapids' pregame happy hour! This version will feature a "Fiesta" theme, and fans can experience great food and drink specials, a live band, and Denver's hottest happy hour scene in the Rapids Beer Garden outside the stadium from 5:30pm all the way up to kickoff! Get there early for the Fiesta Happy Hour, it's completely free to attend!

Rapids Kick Off World Cup in Grand Fashion

The Rapids are kicking off the 2006 World Cup in grand style. This Friday's Rapids home game is also the first game date of the world's biggest sporting event, and the Rapids are holding a pregame ceremony involving kids covering the field pregame with flags from every country taking part in this year's World Cup! The Rapids will also run scoreboard updates with World Cup scores from that day's games at home Rapids games throughout the duration tournament. Lastly, the Rapids have partnered with Budweiser to blanket Denver with World Cup viewing parties for every single game of the World Cup!
