Rapids visit Seattle Sounders FC on Saturday

COMMERCE CITY, Colo. (Monday, July 11, 2011) - The Colorado Rapids (6-5-9, 27 points) will travel to face Seattle Sounders FC (9-4-8, 35 points) this Saturday, July 16 at 2:00 p.m. MT at CenturyLink Field. The Rapids are coming off a 2-1 win over the Vancouver Whitecaps on Saturday night, finishing a grueling stretch of three games in seven days with a win and two ties.

While the Rapids captured a 2-1 home win over Vancouver thanks to goals from Conor Casey, the sixth in his last seven games, and Scott Palguta, his second game-winner this season, Seattle is fresh off a 3-2 road victory against regional rival Portland Timbers. Colorado fell 1-0 to Sounders FC in their first meeting in 2011, on April 22, and this Saturday's game will be broadcast live on Fox Soccer Channel, with pregame programming starting at 1:30 p.m. MT.

The Rapids return home to face New York Red Bulls and international superstars Thierry Henry and Rafa Marquez on Wednesday, July 20 at 7:30 p.m. Three days later, the Rapids take on Benny Feilhaber and the New England Revolution on Saturday, July 23 at 7:00 p.m., also at Dick's Sporting Goods Park.
