
Rapids take on Columbus Crew at home on Friday night

COMMERCE CITY, Colo. (Monday, August 1, 2011) - The Colorado Rapids (8-6-10, 34 points) return to Dick's Sporting Goods Park to take on the Columbus Crew this Friday, August 5 at 7:30 p.m. MT. Last Friday, the Rapids handed Philadelphia Union their first home loss of the season with a 2-1 victory at PPL Park. Pablo Mastroeni netted his first goal of the season and Sanna Nyassi combined again with Omar Cummings to score the game-winner, Nyassi's fourth goal in three games.
The Columbus Crew (9-6-7, 34 points) are riding two straight wins after defeating Portland Timbers at home 1-0 and shutting out Real Salt Lake 2-0 at Rio Tinto Stadium to rise to the top of the Eastern Conference. This Friday's match is also a Heineken Lads Night Out, where fans can get two tickets, two beers, two hot dogs and two t-shirts for $44.
