Buffalo Silverbacks News Release

Buffalo, NY. The ABA Buffalo Rapids changed venues for their Saturday night game vs. the Montreal Matrix. Due to special circumstances, the game was moved to Niagara Catholic High School at 520 66th Street in Niagara Falls, NY. Niagara Catholic was chosen in honor of Staff Sergeant Aram J. Bass who tragically lost his life serving our country recently. Sergeant Bass attended Niagara Catholic and played basketball there before entering the service.

Staff Sergeant Bass's wife is one of the Captains of the Buffalo Rush, the Rapids Pro Cheerleading team. The Rapids chose this intimate setting to honor Staff Sergeant Bass's life and his wife's wish to dedicate her performance to him and celebrate his life. In addition to the ceremony, all local Military were honored at the game. On behalf of the ABA, its teams and the Buffalo Rapids, our hearts and prayers go out to you and our thanks to Staff Sergeant Bass and others in our military who put themselves in harm's way to protect our freedom. God bless you all. For more information, visit www.buffalorapids.com or www.abalive.com.

Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams.
