COMMERCE CITY, Colo. (Monday, May 23, 2011) - The Colorado Rapids (4-3-4,16 points) lengthened their unbeaten streak to five as they began a week of three matches in seven days that will conclude on Saturday, May 28 at Dick's Sporting Goods Park against Sporting Kansas City at 7 pm (MT). Before Saturday's home game, the Rapids are out of town for the week with a Wednesday matchup at New York Red Bulls at 6 pm MT, aired live on Altitude.
The Rapids played to a scoreless draw with Toronto FC at home. The shutout brought the Rapids' record to 1-0-4 (W-L-T) in the last five games, all against Eastern Conference teams. They currently sit in sixth place in the Western Conference, but are only two points behind FC Dallas for second place in the division.
Forward Conor Casey started his first match since being injured on April 3 and will be a key player once more as the Rapids' all-time leading goal scorer against New York Red Bulls, against whom he's scored five goals in as many games played. New York are second in the Eastern Conference but tied with the Rapids in points with a 4-2-4 record and coming off a loss and a tie to Chivas USA and Houston Dynamo, teams that Colorado have already beat this season.
