Rapids Announce the Hiring of Brian Crookham as Director of Coaching for the Rapids Academy

Commerce City, CO (Thursday, May 31, 2007)- The Colorado Rapids announced today the hiring of former Metro State College coach Brian Crookham as the Director of Coaching of the Rapids Academy.

Crookham, who spent the last three years overseeing Colorado Youth Soccer's Olympic Development Program and was the Head Men's Soccer Coach at Metropolitan State College in Denver for the 9 years prior to that, will oversee all aspects of the formation of Rapids Academy teams and will coach the inaugural under-17 team for the academy.

Crookham holds a USSF "A" License and serves as an instructor for US Soccer's National Coaching schools as well as for US Youth Soccer's Region IV coaching staff.

Outside the field, Crookham has also served as the color analyst for Rapids television broadcasts on Altitude Sports and Entertainment since 2004.

Crookham and his wife Michelle currently reside in Highlands Ranch with their three kids Connor, 5, and twins Beth and Sean, 2.
