
Rapid City's Tim Boron Named Oakley CHL Goaltender of the Week

GLENDALE, AZ (March 20, 2012) -The Central Hockey League announced today that Rapid City Rush goaltender Tim Boron has been named the Oakley Central Hockey League Goaltender of the Week for the period ending March 18, 2012.

The Winnipeg, Manitoba native won four games in five nights last week beating some of the best teams the league has to offer. His 4-0 record was accompanied by a 2.20 goals against average and a .913 save percentage.
Most impressive for Boron and the Rush was the competition they faced in their busy week. On Tuesday, the Rush defeated the Allen Americans (second in the Berry Conference) by a 5-2 score with Boron making 25 saves. The next night saw Boron stop 19 shots in a 3-2 shootout win against the Wichita Thunder, the top team in the CHL.
Rapid City returned home for a weekend series with Evansville who at the time the weekend began was leading the Turner Conference. The Rush defeated the IceMen 6-3 and 3-2 moving Rapid City to within two points of Evansville and within three points of Fort Wayne. In the two games, Boron stopped 51 of 56 shots in earning the pair of wins.
On the season, Boron is 22-11-2 with a 2.52 goals against average (sixth in the league) and a .922 save percentage (third in the league).
