Rapid City's Jon Pelle Named Sher-Wood/TPS Central Hockey League Player of the Month

(Tempe, Arizona) - The Central Hockey League announced today that forward Jon Pelle of the Rapid City Rush has been named the Sher-Wood/TPS Central Hockey League Player of the Month for the month of December/2009. Pelle will receive a Sher-Wood/TPS portable DVD player, courtesy of Sher-Wood/TPS, to recognize his accomplishment.

Pelle, 23, had an outstanding month in December finishing with 19 points. The West Islip, New York native finished December with 10 of his 19 points coming on the power play and of his 10 goals, three were game winners. Pelle tallied points in all but one of the teams 12 games during the month that saw the Rush go on a six-game win streak to contribute to their 10-2-0 record on the month.

The 5-11, 177-pound forward currently stands in second place on his team in plus/minus with a +10 rating and his 23 points (12-11=23) are sixth on his squad.

Other players receiving consideration for the monthly award for December include Allen's Justin Bowers and Bruce Graham, Amarillo's David Nimmo, Bossier-Shreveport's Travis Clayton, Colorado's Kevin Ulanski and Ed McGrane, Mississippi's Louis Dumont, Missouri's Jeff Christian, Odessa's Sebastien Thinel, Rapid City's Scott Wray, RGV's Jesse Bennefield and Texas' Jordan Cameron.
