Rapid City's Frey Named CCM/ECHL Goaltender of the Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - Christian Frey of the Rapid City Rush is the CCM ECHL Goaltender of the Week for April 2-8.

Frey went 3-0-0 with a 2.91 goals-against average and a save percentage of .943 in three appearances last week.

The 24-year-old made a career-high 53 saves in a 4-1 win at Quad City on?Wednesday, stopped 52 shots in a 3-2 shootout win at Tulsa on Friday and made 43 saves in a 9-6 victory against the Oilers on Saturday.

A native of Arlington, Texas, Frey went 7-14-3 in 29 appearances with the Rush this season.

Prior to turning pro, Frey appeared in 87 career games at Ohio State University posting an overall record of 36-34-11 with three shutouts, a 2.86 goals-against average and a save percentage of .913.

Runners Up: Etienne Marcoux, Indy (2-1-1, 2.74 GAA, .919 save pct.) and Mark Dekanich,?Reading (2-0-0, 2.00 GAA, .935 save pct.).
