
Rapid City Rush Start New Year on Top of Sher-Wood CHL Coaches Poll/Power Ranking

GLENDALE, AZ (January 2, 2014) - The Rapid City Rush (22-5-0) are sitting with the top record in the CHL and for the fourth straight time they are perched on top of the CHL's Sher-Wood Power Rankings (Coaches Poll). The Rush are a perfect 12-0 on the road this season and will get a test this weekend when they go head-to-head with the defending Ray Miron Presidents' Cup Champion Allen Americans (17-10-2) for games on Friday and Saturday.
The poll is released on or near the beginning and middle of each month throughout the regular season. Each first place vote receives 10 points, second place votes earn 9 points, etc. Teams are not permitted to vote for themselves.
The Missouri Mavericks (20-7-1) remained the #2 team in the poll earning two first place votes (Rapid City had seven first place votes) while the Quad City Mallards (15-6-5) jumped up one spot to #3 while earning the final first place vote. The Flock had the biggest increase in points from the previous poll moving up 14 points while jumping from #4 to #3. Allen and the Tulsa Oilers round out the top five.
