MOLINE, Ill. (January 26, 2011)- Ryan Menei had a hat trick and Konrad Reeder piled up four points- one goal and three assists- as the Rapid City Rush defeated the host Quad City Mallards 6-2 Wednesday night.

The Rush jumped on the Mallards for three first period goals. Menei followed up a fine Reeder rush to jam in the opening goal at 7:03 of the first.

Menei doubled the Rapid City lead by finishing off a give-and-go with Reeder from the slot at 10:50 of the opening period.

Reeder scored himself with just 1:34 left in the first, burying Josh Beaulieu's cross-crease pass to stretch the gap to 3-0.

The Mallards got on the scoreboard for the first time when Tyler Shelast's one timer from the top of the right wing circle narrowed the margin to 3-1 at 13:37 of the second period.

Rapid City reestablished the three-goal lead at 11:23 of the third period. Menei scored his third goal of the night on a 2-on-1 rush to make it 4-1. The Mallards found a spark just 31 seconds later when Brandon Marino cut the deficit to a pair by jabbing the puck in from the crease, but the Rush would score the final two goals and put the game away. Jamie Carroll buried a rebound and extended the Rapid City advantage to 5-2 at 13:27 of the third and, with the Mallards having pulled goaltender Adam Russo (38 saves) for an extra attacker, Les Reaney capped of the Rush victory with an empty net goal at 16:14.
