Rangers Hold Annual Awards Banquet

The Kitchener Rangers Hockey Club held their Annual Awards Banquet last night in the Ballroom at Bingemans in Kitchener.

Centre Jeff Skinner was the night's big winner, taking home six awards including Most Valuable Player. He was also the first player to win the Don Cameron 50 Goal Award since Ron Goodall won the award during the 86-87 season.

Other multiple award winners included defencemen John Moore and Captain Dan Kelly.

The Rangers also recognized five graduating players; Jason Akeson, Patrik Andersson, Mike Mascioli, John Moore and Matt Tipoff as well as their three overage players: Dan Kelly, Chris MacKinnon and Julian Cimadamore.

Herchenrader Family Trophy (Best Defensive Ability): Dan Kelly

Les Bradley Memorial Award (Most Improved Player): Michael Catenacci

Jim McGeachie Memorial Trophy (Outstanding Team Effort): Ben Fanelli

Charles Chalkin Memorial Trophy (Best Performer in Playoffs): Dan Kelly and Jeff Skinner

Bob "Snowy" Schlieman Award (Best Offensive Defenseman): John Moore

Ted Scharf Humanitarian Award sponsored by Kitchener Sports Association: John Moore

Harold Gowing Memorial Trophy (Most Improved KMHA Product): N/A

Jim Reilly Trophy (Scoring Champion): Chris MacKinnon and Jeff Skinner

Michael Pappert Memorial Trophy (Rookie of the Year): Gabriel Landeskog

Blueline Club Trophy (Most Gentlemanly Player): Ryan Murphy

Jim Malleck Memorial Trophy (Most Valuable Player): Jeff Skinner

Don Cameron Trophy (50 Goal Award): Jeff Skinner
