Rancho Cucamonga Quakes News Release

Visalia, CA - The Quakes earned their second straight series-win, thanks to Sunday's 11-2 victory over the Visalia Rawhide at Valley Strong Ballpark.

Yeiner Fernandez capped an incredible series with a four-hit day and three more RBIs, as the Quakes won two of three from Visalia and have now won eight of their last ten games overall.

Peter Heubeck and Ronan Kopp (5-2) combined for six shutout innings, as they allowed just one hit and one walk, while striking out 11 over their six frames.

Rancho got on the board immediately in the first inning against Visalia starter Liam Norris (0-7). Yunior Garcia had a two-run single and Fernandez collected his first hit and first RBI for a 3-0 lead after one.

Rancho piled on three more in the third, including Damon Keith's team-leading 12th homer of the year, helping the Quakes take a 6-0 lead.

Visalia got their only two runs in the seventh, spoiling what could have been Rancho's second shutout of the series.

Rancho out-hit Visalia, 16-3 on Sunday evening.

The Quakes (13-11, 49-41) take a day off on Monday, then head to San Jose to open a six-game series against the Giants on Tuesday at 6:30pm. Joel Ibarra (0-0) makes his second start of the year for Rancho, while San Jose has yet to name a starter.

The Quakes will eventually return to LoanMart Field on Tuesday, August 2, as they host the Inland Empire 66ers in a six-game set. Tuesday, August 2 will be a Healthy RC Recycle Tuesday. Tickets are available at rcquakes.com. We hope to see you at LoanMart Field...Go Quakes!
