Rancho Cucamonga Quakes News Release
San Bernardino, CA - The Inland Empire 66ers led from start to finish on Wednesday night, convincingly winning the second game of the six-game series by a score of 12-0 at San Manuel Stadium.
Rancho starter Maddux Bruns struggled with his command and recorded just one out on Wednesday, which unfortunately set the tone for the shut-out loss.
The Quakes' offense, held to just four hits on the night, watched as the 66ers scored in the first four innings, taking a commanding 9-0 lead after four.
Bruns (0-2) gave up three in the first, while Huei-Sheng Lin gave up six more over 3.1 innings of work.
Inland starter Connor Van Scoyoc (5-4) was brilliant over six innings, scattering four hits and striking out seven in earning the win.
Rancho (4-7, 40-37) will look to stop a two-game skid on Thursday, sending Benony Robles (3-2) to the mound against 66ers' right-hander Fernando Guanare (2-2) at 7:05pm.
The Quakes will return home to LoanMart Field on Tuesday, July 12th, when they host the Fresno Grizzlies in a special 11:00am Summer Camp Day. Tickets are available at rcquakes.com. We hope to see you at LoanMart Field...Go Quakes!
