Grand Rapids Rampage News Release
DENVER - The Grand Rapids Rampage will look for their second straight victory tomorrow (May 2) when they take on the Colorado Crush. Grand Rapids is coming off of a 72-38 victory over the Kansas City Brigade that moved the team into a tie with Colorado for second place in the American Conference Central Division at 3-5.
Last week, the Rampage defense paved the way to the team's third victory of the season and second blowout win over the Brigade. Grand Rapids collected three interceptions and one fumble recovery while forcing Kansas City into an additional four turnovers on downs. Defensive lineman Michael McFadden (Saginaw, Mich.) became the first Rampage player to log three sacks in a game since 2003, while Ahmad Hawkins (Hampton, Va.) intercepted his fifth pass of the season.
The Crush will be looking for revenge, as the Rampage swept the season series against Colorado last year, including winning their season-opener in Denver, 44-42. The winner of tomorrow's contest will at least move into sole possession of fourth place in the conference standings, a position that would yield a home playoff game at the end of the regular season.
Fortunately for the Rampage, this week will mark the first time all season that the team's 23-man active roster has remained the same for two consecutive games. Grand Rapids also signed receiver Brent Holmes (San Antonio, Texas) and defensive lineman Jason Holman (Midlothian, Va.), who were assigned to the team's practice squad and injured reserve list, respectively.
Rampage fans can hear every snap of Friday's game against the Crush with play-by-play voice Joe Parson at RampageFootball.com beginning at 8:45 p.m. (EDT). Kickoff is slated for 9 p.m. For additional information including updated schedules, rosters, and ticket options, visit RampageFootball.com.
