Rampage To Host Autism Awareness Night

ROCKFORD, Ill. -- The Rockford Rampage and the Autism Society of Illinois are joining forces to raise money in support of autism awareness.

This Saturday the Rampage are hosting Autism Awareness Night during their Major Indoor Soccer League game against the Milwaukee Wave at the MetroCentre. Game time is at 7:05 p.m.

The Rampage players will wear special jerseys that will be auctioned off during the game. Fans can bid on their favorite player's jersey during a silent auction at the concourse. Bidding closes at the start of the fourth quarter. Winning fans will be announced midway through the fourth and will be invited onto the field following the game to collect their jersey. All proceeds from the auction benefit the Autism Society of Illinois.

Also, fans can order tickets online through autismillinois.org, download the order form at the front of the site and fax (516-665-7075) or mail the form to the Rampage office, Rockford Rampage Autism Night, 5411 E. State St., Suite 6, Rockford, IL 61108. For anyone who purchases the $12 ticket in this fashion, $2 will be donated back to the Autism Society.

Autism affects approximately one out of every 100 kids born in the U.S. It is a developmental disability that typically appears during the first three years of life and is the result of a neurological disorder that affects the normal functioning of the brain, impacting development in social interaction and communication skills.
