Grand Rapids Rampage News Release
The Grand Rapids Rampage will hold their first true mini-camp a month before the season on December 2-4, 2004 at the Soccer Spot in Kentwood, Michigan. In previous seasons, the team has done a mini-camp immediately before training camp.
"We need to see what type of athletes we have. I need to know how much and how fast they can learn," said Rampage head coach Sparky McEwen. "The timing of this mini-camp is earlier than those in the past because I feel like we have to change everything we do here after last season. I don't want anything to remind the players of last season."
All players under contract (a maximum of 37) will participate in two-a-day workouts on the second and third, with a single workout on the fourth.
The Rampage will open their 8th training camp on January 3 in preparation for the season opener on January 28 against the Arizona Rattlers a Van Andel Arena. Teams are allowed a 24-man active roster, in addition to four practice squad spots. Rosters must be set by January 22.
