Philadelphia Soul News Release
The Philadelphia Soul and NBC 10 have enlisted NBC 10 viewers to select the 18th and final spot on the Soul's 2005 Soulmates dance team. The three finalists currently have their individual profiles and one-minute dance performances posted on www.NBC10.com, and visitors are encouraged to vote for their favorite dancer.
The voting begins today Thursday, November 11 and will continue through the 11 p.m. news broadcast on Monday, November 15. The winner will be announced LIVE on the 10! Show the next day, and NBC 10 will also carry the big moment live on www.NBC10.com at 10 a.m.
The Soulmates recently held their auditions for their 2005 team and three finalists remain for the last spot on the team. On Tuesday night 17 dancers were named to the 2005 squad.
Vying for the final Soulmates position are finalists Lauren, Martha and Danielle. Lauren, from Vineland, NJ, is a self-described football fanatic whose favorite song to sing in the shower is "Rubber Duckie." Martha, a Wilmington, DE native, danced in high school on the Padua Academy team and lists Bon Jovi as her favorite musical group. Danielle, from Gloucester City, NJ, cites South Street as her favorite thing about Philadelphia and "being hit by a tramcar on the boardwalk" as her most embarrassing moment.
The Soulmates are an 18-member squad choreographed by Marla Congialdi that performs at Soul games and events and is actively involved in the Philadelphia community. Soulmates made over 100 appearances at local schools, hospitals, businesses and children's events during the Soul's inaugural season.
Season tickets for the Philadelphia Soul's sophomore season are on sale now. The Soul's home opener is slated for Sunday, February 13 versus the Nashville Kats live on NBC.
