Rampage Sweep Wave, Climb Back To 1st Place

MILWAUKEE -- Matthew Stewart scored two goals as the Rockford Rampage completed a weekend sweep of the Milwaukee Wave with a 7-6 victory Sunday in Major Indoor Soccer League action at the U.S. Cellular Arena.

With the Baltimore Blast's 7-6 loss to La RaZa de Monterrey on Sunday, the Rampage now share the top spot of the MISL with Baltimore at 5-4.

Rampage goalkeeper Ante Cop made his first start of the 2009-2010 MISL season and saved 15 of 18 shots. He filled in for Danny Waltman, who was out with a knee injury. Bato Radoncic contributed a three-point goal for the Rampage. The Wave fell to 5-5.

Next up for the Rampage is a 6:05 p.m. (CST) match on Saturday against the host Philadelphia KiXX (3-5) at the Liacouras Center. All three KiXX victories have come against the Rampage. Rockford's next home match is at 7:05 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 30, against La RaZa de Monterrey at the MetroCentre.
