Rampage Signs Five

The Rockford Rampage, in preparations for their inaugural season in the Professional Arena Soccer League, announced today the signings of five cornerstone players, all of which played with the Rampage during their American Indoor Soccer League and Major Indoor Soccer League campaigns.
Goalkeeper/Forward Ante Cop is an indoor veteran, having played with the Arizona Thunder of the World Indoor Soccer League and Chicago Riot of the Major Indoor Soccer League as well as the Rampage. One of the only "two-way" players in indoor soccer today, Cop (pronounced CHOP) might be best known for his dramatic game-winning three point goal in the final minute of regulation for the Riot over the Baltimore Blast in January 2011.
Defender Fred DeGand is another indoor veteran, having played with the Cleveland Force, Rockford Rampage, and Chicago Storm and Riot of the MISL. While with the Riot in 2010-11, DeGand, a Chicago native, served as the team's captain.
Midfielder Semir Mesanovic will bring a veteran's touch and scoring skill in his return to the Rampage this winter. A native of Bosnia who emigrated to Toronto, Mesanovic (pronounced MEZ-AN-O-VICH) played outdoors with famed Turkish club Bestikas and Bosnian club FC Sarajevo, has played indoors with the MISL's Milwaukee Wave, Chicago Storm, California Cougars, and Philadelphia Kixx as well as with the Rampage.
Defender/Midfielder Eric Lukin was one of the top players ever to come out of the University of Illinois at Chicago. He is the Flames' all-time leader in goals scored, assists, and total points.
A graduate of University of Wisconsin at Parkside, Midfielder Bojan Jovicic (pronounced JOE-VIH-SICH) was a first round draft pick of the Milwaukee Wave of the MISL in 2008. He tallied 33 goals and 34 assists in four years at UW-Parkside. He played with the Rampage in 2007-08.
The Rampage will open their PASL schedule in Canton, OH on November 3rd where they will take on the Ohio Vortex. The Rampage will open the home portion of the schedule on November 24th at the Victory Sports Complex (7003 North Alpine Rd in Loves Park), where they will host their Tollway Rivals, the new Chicago Mustangs.
