Grand Rapids Rampage News Release

GRAND RAPIDS - The Grand Rapids Rampage continued to bolster their receiving corps for the 2007 season, signing former Tampa Bay Storm Ronney Daniels (Lake Wales, Fla.) to a two-year contract. Daniels has spent two years in the Arena Football League at the wide receiver/linebacker position, totaling 53 receptions for 618 yards and 13 touchdowns.

"We're changing the face of Rampage football," said Sparky McEwen, head coach and director of football operations for the Rampage. "You can see that in the size of the receivers we're going after. I was impressed with Ronney when he played against us last year. He's got a big body along with speed and strength."

Last season, Daniels collected eight receptions including two touchdown grabs against the Rampage in Tampa Bay's 53-41 victory in Grand Rapids on February 3. The 6-2, 215 pound Auburn University product totaled career bests in receptions (31) and receiving yards (312) with the Storm in 2006.

"I'm a big receiver, so when we get into the red zone I can make plays over smaller defensive backs," said Daniels. "Grand Rapids is a great organization with great coaches, and I'm going to work hard to get up there and help the team win."

Daniels joins wide receivers Carlton Brewster (Grand Rapids, Mich.) and Rob Mager (Seymour, Ind.) as the newest members of the Rampage. All three have been signed since the beginning of the AFL's free agent signing period Monday (Oct. 2).
