GRAND RAPIDS - The final audition for the 2007 Rage Dance Team presented by WSNX will be held Sunday (Oct. 8) at the Royce Center for Dance, the Grand Rapids Ballet Company's home, from 1 p.m.-4 p.m. EDT. Eric O'Brien, host of WSNX's "[the eob show]," will emcee the event, which will feature skilled dancers performing at one of Grand Rapids' newest arts venues. The audition is open to the public.

"I'm excited to be a part of this event again," said O'Brien, who has emceed the final audition in past years. "The Rage Dance Team is a great organization in Grand Rapids, and we at WSNX love to be a part of great things."

After last weekend's tryout, Connie Butler, the Rage Dance Team's director of dance, narrowed the group of potential 2007 dancers to 22. These women will take the stage Sunday and perform a prepared routine. A final team of 12 dancers will be announced at the end of the audition.

Following the final selection, the 2007 Rage Dance Team members will hit the radio waves on 104.5 FM to introduce themselves to Grand Rapids. The Rage Dance Team presented by WSNX serves as the official dance team of the Arena Football League's Grand Rapids Rampage while supporting the West Michigan community through charities and events.

Enthusiasts of dance in all of its forms, along with all Rampage fans, are invited to attend. Those who are present will receive a special Rage Dance Team souvenir. The Royce Center for Dance - located at 341 Ellsworth SW, Grand Rapids, MI 49503 - can be found just east of the Grand River and north of Wealthy Street. In 2000, the Grand Rapids Ballet Company purchased the old North Star Bus terminal and transformed it into the now 20,000 square foot state-of-the-art dance facility.
