Rampage sign former Xtreme Soccer League Ironman

Rockford, IL, January 8, 2009 - The Rockford Rampage has signed Jamaican native Gary Brooks through the end of the season.

An indoor and outdoor forward/ midfielder, Brooks began his professional career in 2002 with the United Soccer League First Division's (USL -1) Virginia Beach Mariners. He made his indoor soccer debut with the then Major Indoor Soccer League's (MISL) Philadelphia KiXX in 2004. He signed with the California Cougars in 2006 before competing with the New Jersey Ironmen for the 2007 and 2008 seasons.

New Jersey Ironmen, now a member of the newly formed Xtreme Soccer League (XSL), formed in 2008, was joined by the Chicago Storm, Detroit Ignition, and the Milwaukee Wave. Other MISL teams joining the National Indoor Soccer League include the Rockford Rampage, Philadelphia KiXX, Massachusetts Twisters, Baltimore Blast, and Monterey La RaZa.

Brooks joins outdoor teammate Ibrahim Kante on the Rampage Roster, adding to the team's evolving chemistry. The two played for Baltimore's Crystal Palace where both were named USL- 2 Team of the week. In his first year, Brooks was names in the USL Second Division All-League First Team for scoring 7 goals in 9 games with 2 assists. His second year, he was named to the Second Division All-League Second Team.

Brooks will make his Rampage debut when the team hosts the Baltimore Blast on Sunday, January 11, 2009. All Rampage games are played at the Rockford Metro Centre, 300 Elm St. with doors opening at 4pm and soccer action, starting at 5:05pm. Tickets start at $8 and can be purchased at the Metro Centre box office or Rampage Office at 7003 N. Alpine Rd.
