
Rampage Re-Sign Hodge - Add Two AFL Veterans

The Grand Rapids Rampage continued to fine-tune their 2004 roster Wednesday with the re-signing of WR/LB Damon Hodge, along with signings of defensive specialist Barry Dillard and lineman Terry Grooms.
Hodge (6'01" - 202 lbs. - Alabama State) played in ten games with the Rampage in 2003 earning Ironman of the Game honors in week 11 vs. Las Vegas. After a stellar collegiate career at Alabama State where he finished as the school's all-time receptions leader, Hodge signed with the Dallas Cowboys in 2000. He finished the season with four catches for 60 yards in nine games played. In 2002, Hodge signed with the Seattle Seahawks and was allocated to the Frankfurt Galaxy. After time in NFL Europe, he played in five games for the Ottawa Renegades of the Canadian Football League where he recorded nine catches for 163 yards and two TDs.
Dillard (5'10" - 185 lbs. - Memphis) will enter his fifth AFL season in 2004. During his career in the AFL, Dillard has tallied 107.5 tackles, 30 pass breakups and seven interceptions. Dillard was a three-year starter at the University of Memphis where he notched 200 tackles and five interceptions.
Grooms (6'05" - 295 lbs - Cincinnati) began his professional career with the New York Jets in 1997. His AFL experience includes two seasons with the Milwaukee Mustangs (1999-00), one with Grand Rapids (2002), and two with the Buffalo Destroyers (2002-03). During his career, Grooms has recorded 44.5 tackles, 9.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, one recovered fumble, and four receptions for 31 yards. Grooms ended his collegiate career with 119 tackles and three sacks en route to being named Second Team All-Conference his senior season.
