Grand Rapids Rampage News Release
DALLAS - The Grand Rapids Rampage will face their former star quarterback Clint Dolezel and the Dallas Desperados tomorrow (May 10) night in an Arena Football League non-conference matchup. Grand Rapids (3-6) is searching for its second road victory of the season, while Dallas looks to extend its winning streak against the Rampage to four and improve its 2008 overall record to 9-1.
Last week, the Rampage struggled on the road against the Colorado Crush, surrendering 28 consecutive points in the second and third quarters en route to a 63-28 loss to their Central Division rivals. Grand Rapids allowed five sacks, including two that led to Rampage quarterback James MacPherson (Tucson, Ariz.) fumbles and defensive touchdowns for Colorado. Meanwhile, Crush receiver Aaron Hosack pulled in four touchdown passes in the win.
Grand Rapids' roster received a boost this past week when offensive lineman/fullback T.J. Watkins (North Augusta, S.C.) returned to the active roster from the team's injured reserve list. The Rampage also signed offensive lineman Reggie Jiles (Gardendale, Ala.) from their practice squad while waiving defensive lineman Ronnie Washburn (Forest City, N.C.) and releasing receiver Anthony Hines (West Palm Beach, Fla.). Finally, the team signed quarterback Tom Arth (Cleveland, Ohio) and defensive lineman Bryan Ray (Wheaton, Md.) to its practice squad.
