SALT LAKE CITY - The Utah Blaze today activated K STEVE VIDETICH (6-2, 228, North Carolina State) from injured reserve. In other moves the week, Utah waived K STEVE AZAR (5-9, 195, Northern Illinois) and OL MYNIYA SMITH (6-7, 335, Southern), and signed OL KYLE GUNTHER (6-4, 310, Utah) and DB WILL FIELDS (5-9, 185, Houston) to the practice squad.
Videtich has played in 169 regular season games and is in his third season with Utah. He has connected on 177-of-361 (49.0%) on field goal attempts and 1,004-of-1,103 (91.0%) of his PATs. He is currently No. 1 all-time in scoring for a kicker (1,535), No. 1 all-time for extra points made (1,004), and is tied with MIKE BLACK for No. 2 all-time for made field goals (177).
Videtich was a Second-Team All-American for the Wolf Pack and was named All-ACC twice. In 1997 and 2002, he earned AFL Kicker of the Year honors, as well as First-Team All-Arena recognition. He also attended training camp for the NFL's Washington Redskins in 1995.
