Rampage Hold Fan Appreciation Week
May 12, 2003 - Arena Football League (1987-2008) (AFL I)
Grand Rapids Rampage News Release
Grand Rapids, Mich. - The Grand Rapids Rampage of the Arena Football League are rounding out the 2003 regular season in style as they host their first-ever Fan Appreciation Week.
The week of festivities will conclude with a showdown against the Dallas Desperados for the Central Division title. A win against the Desperados would secure the Rampage's second division title in three years, while also guaranteeing a home contest in the first round of the playoffs. The Desperados, led by former Dallas Cowboys special teams coach Joe Avezzano, look to earn their first division title in their second season in the league behind the leadership of AFL-veteran quarterback Jim Kubiak.
Sunday's contest will be broadcast nationwide on NBC Sports. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. (ET). In the inaugural season of the AFL on NBC, the network will televise up to 70 games, including all playoff games and ArenaBowl XVII on June 22.
