The Rampage scored 41 points in the first half against the defending champion SaberCats, but were shutdown in the second half as San Jose beat Grand Rapids 72-48. Grand Rapids received a big dosage of Offensive Player of the Game Rasheid Davis, who scored five touchdowns â two on returns, two receiving and one rushing.
Chris Jackson led the Rampage with a career-high 259 all-purpose yards and three touchdowns, including just his second career kickoff return for a score. Michael Bishop, who was hampered by a hamstring injury early in the contest, completed 20-of-33 passes for 222 yards and five touchdowns. He was held to a season-low five rushing yards on three attempts. Josh Bush, Dennison Robinson and Damon Hodge also caught touchdowns from Bishop. Chris Avery led the Rampage on the ground with 16 yards on four carries and ran in a score.
Grand Rapids heads to the City of Brotherly Love next Saturday night to take on the Philadelphia Soul. The game will be televised on Fox Sports Detroit.
